Rig and sail knowledge evaporates between seasons. The tension a rigger set three years ago, the shroud that needed taking up every spring, the settings that worked in twenty knots, the sail that quietly stopped holding its shape: all of it is known on the day and gone by the next haul-out. These records make the seasons cumulative.

Nothing here publishes a target tension, a replacement interval or a threshold at which a wire should be condemned. You transcribe your own spar maker's and your own rigger's figures, and every session afterwards is measured against those. Interpreting a terminal is a qualified skill, and these documents are built to capture what a qualified person found — not to replace them.
