Nobody forgets a liferaft service because the arithmetic is hard. They forget it because the date is on a label inside a valise, in a locker, under the cockpit — and nowhere else.
This register moves all of it onto one page. Every flare, every extinguisher, every lifejacket service, every EPIRB battery, sorted by the date it falls due rather than by the locker it lives in. The top line is always the next thing to deal with.

Why there is no equipment list printed in it
What a vessel must carry depends on her flag state, her size and category, the waters she is used in, whether she is used commercially, and — for racing — on the class rules in force that season. There is no list that is correct for every reader.
A printed list would be wrong for most of them and quietly reassuring for the rest, which is worse. So Part I is a page where you transcribe your requirements, from a source you can name. Your maritime authority publishes the requirement. We do not.
A blank line is the most useful thing in the register
If you cannot find a requirement, leave it blank and record that you looked. That blank is a question to put to your authority or your insurer before the season rather than after an incident. An invented number is a false answer you will trust for years. The same discipline applies to service intervals: liferaft, extinguisher, lifejacket and EPIRB battery intervals come from the maker and the servicing station, and none are printed here.
Set your own window
Model Q5 takes a window you choose — a passage, a season, a year — and returns what expires inside it and what that will cost. The list for a three-week passage is not the list for the year, and confusing them is how a flare goes out of date mid-ocean.
Model Q4 annualises the whole locker. A liferaft service, a set of flares and four lifejackets landing in the same spring is how owners end up deferring one of them; spread across the years it becomes a budget line instead of a shock.
Drills: recorded, never prescribed
This document sets no drill frequency — that depends on your crew, your waters and your training. What it does is stop “we should practise that” from being a thought you have had every season for six years. And the register asks for what went wrong, not that it was done: the note saying the danbuoy fouled the backstay, or that nobody could find the second extinguisher, is the entire value of the page.
