Why the three together beat the three apart
A target speed is worthless if the log reads three per cent low, so the tune log calibrates before it compares. A settings matrix is worthless without the tension record that says what the rig was actually set to. And a sail that has quietly moved its draft aft will flatten every number in the polar. The three registers share one wind-band definition, so a change in one is readable in the others.

The rule every document in the kit obeys
Not one published tension, service life or target speed anywhere in 74 pages. A tension written for a masthead sloop puts a swept fractional rig out of column; a cruising dacron main and a racing membrane have nothing in common; and a published polar is a promise about a bare hull. You transcribe your spar maker's and your loft's own figures, and the models compare you to your own best.
